Multibhashi was founded by Anuradha Agarwal in 2017 and is a platform primarily focused on teaching English to beginner level speakers from vernacular languages. The unique feature pitched by the platform is its aim to enhance employment opportunities especially for blue collar workers by teaching them English specific to their job roles.
Multibhashi also provides cross learning of vernacular languages to aid urban migrants. The content for learning is provided through an app with self-paced courses, chat support, and interactive games for efficient learning with support from experienced tutors and linguists.
Param Capital, Anurag Goel, Cactus Communication, Mukul Agarwal also participated in the funding round. Multibhashi has previously received funding from Japan’s RareJob and angel investor Aniruddha Malpani, Deter Capital Advisors, Startup Oasis and Axilor Ventures.
Multibhashi aims to utilize its new funding to invest in new technology, innovate new features and prioritize marketing and publicity. Another agenda high on the priority list for Multibhashi is adding more vernacular languages and expanding its operations to other countries.
The language learning market is estimated to be worth billions, and Multibhashi aims to leverage the demand with its unique approach to blend technology and personal touch to educate.
