Anniversaries for Organizations are an important event to celebrate past achievements as well as acknowledge the current situation for future generations.

The Client wanted to balance several evening events with active sport and fitness elements. To illustrate the professionalism and dedication of the organization, a professional race timing system was desired to manage a running race properly.

Powering Precision for a 300-Participant Race Event in Singapore

A government organization in Singapore partnered with Globibo to deliver a reliable race timing infrastructure for 300 participants. Globibo provided end-to-end support, including non-reusable race chips, timing system, truss gantry – ensuring a smooth, accurate, and professionally managed race experience for the client and participants.

The race results had to be segmented to

  • Fastest Male Runners
  • Fastest Female Runners
  • 3 slowest runners (in a certain timeframe)

MANAGEMENT OF CHALLENGES

  • The environment was very challenging: Extreme hot weather and strong winds in an open space with 1 small tent. The sun was shining into the tent, and the race timing infrastructure and laptops were exposed to hot temperatures. Furthermore, the environment had no direct electricity, while the setup and operations were targeted for around 10 hours.
  • There were 2 laps for the runners, and the start/end points were at the same gantry (the checkpoint itself had no system-supported runner verification). The Globibo team had to ensure that all the runners had completed 2 laps from chip reads, as well as manual checks based on bands collected.
  • To identify the “last” runners within a certain timeframe, precise live measurement was required to ensure the right people are in/excluded.
  • Comprehensive reports of data of chip reads, as well as dropouts, will be provided as soon as possible to the client.
